Hi there! My name is Naomi Howland and I write and draw the pictures for children's books. Here is a picture of me when I was in first grade at Roosevelt School in Englewood, NJ. When I was little I told my teacher that I wanted to be an "Artist Mommy" and that is exactly what I am today.

I grew up in the New York City suburb, Englewood, NJ where I enjoyed drawing, reading, playing with dolls, and telling stories to my sister.

I attended the School of Visual Arts and earned a BFA in photography. After graduation, I became a painter and print maker.

An assignment in a children's book illustration class at Art Center College of Design became my first book, ABCDrive!.

Besides writing and illustrating my own books, ABCDrive!, Latkes Latkes Good to Eat, and The Matzah Man, I have illustrated several other books.
